Hello and Welcome!

Who remembers when I started blogging as Mother of the Bride? and then had to abandon the whole thing as it was all getting very personal and people were easily identifying themselves and it all got rather tricky?!! Well I'm having another go! Of course we are now some years on and live has picked up a rather different though no less frenetic pace.

I think to begin with we will just mull over one or two thoughts at a time. You are all welcome to read this obviously and indeed join in but it is women of a certain age who will really appreciate where this is coming from.

When your children have children and they treat them completely different from the way that you did - is this criticism? Or is that just paranoia? I don't think so! When they are so busy reading guide books - how to this - how to that - are they forgetting to ask older female relatives how to? When mumsnet.com ( is that right?) is so very successful and of course truly helpful this is for us the ones who are now possibly feeling misplaced all of a sudden.

I'm sure you will remember how I raged about blogging being self indulgent etc. but hey its cheaper than counselling, readily available and we don't have to have a group hug!
